Ekasa, a company created in 2002 by more than 100 Basque slot machine operators in order to develop a technology capable of managing the online sports betting business, has received from Unai Rementeria, General Deputy of Bizkaia, the Award ON Bizkaia 2017 to the best start-up trajectory.
The awards ON Bizkaia, already in their fourth edition, recognize the contribution of Bizkaia SMEs to the generation of economic activity and employment.
Firmly convinced that innovation is the only way to be competitive, Ekasa presented in 2012 a first R+D+i initiative — the portal RETAbet— followed by many others that have made the company a state leader in The sector of sports betting operators.
The company, integrated in the RETA group, has since its beginnings relied on the creativity, professionalism and solvency of ADN DESIGN for the mechanical design and development of its betting terminals. "This has allowed," said Carlos San José, project manager at ADN DESIGN, "that the entire range of terminals could respond to a unique design identity that has proven to be very relevant in the industry."
Currently, Ekasa has just added ecodesign to a new betting terminal by ADN DESIGN. "The environmental improvement strategies adopted include the optimization of electric consumption, the choice of materials and components that are more environmentally friendly or end-of-life management of the terminal," said Carlos San José. This well-deserved recognition will be an important stimulus to continue in this innovative and sustainable trajectory.
