iTEM: Industrial Design in the Basque Country

iTEM is a collectible reprint published by Innobasque - Basque Innovation Agency - to share the latest trends, tools, strategies, best practices and more advanced concepts around innovation. Its latest release has addressed the issue of industrial design and its role in the Basque economy, taking some contents from the book Design Basque Country. 25 years of EIDE: The Basque Country Designers Association
The back cover of the publication presenting “Some ideas on Design in Euskadi” includes the colaboration of Brigitte Sauvage alongside other interesting contributions by Imanol Pradales, Deputy for Economic Promotion of the Biscay Provincial Government, Ion Sojo, former director of DZ Design Center or Anatxu Zabalbeascoa, journalist and art historian, amongst others.
I understand my work as a service to others. I do not conceive the design concept linked exclusively to elite products. I had the desire to reach all people and, therefore, to make products that could even be considered "humble". [...] I think that you can not give up the social value of design. It stands for quality of life and quality of life must come to all people. [...] We have always worked on the design focused on users.
