Imagine, Create, Innovate

The European Commission have launched the communication campaign for the European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009 with the slogan “Imagine. Create. Innovate”. The aim of the Year is to promote creative and innovative approaches in different sectors of human activity and contribute to better equip the European Union for the challenges ahead in a globalised world.
On the eve of the campaign launch, the Commissioner Ján Figel’ said:
Both creativity and the capacity to innovate are key human qualities – they are inherent to all of us, and we make use of them in many situations and places, whether knowingly or not. With this European Year, I would like to see that the citizens of Europe understand better that by promoting human talents and the human capacity to innovate, we can actively shape Europe for the better, to help it fully develop its potential, both economically and socially.
Through this initiative, the Commission is organising promotional campaigns, conferences and seminars at European, national, regional and local levels throughout 2009 to address business, regional and research policies, as well as education and culture issues.
This initiative promises to be very stimulating and it should be followed with interest.

Foro Innogune

Last 15th of December the first Foro Innogune Plasticos 2008 took place at its headquarters in Bilbao, organised by the Business Confederation of Bizkaia (CEBEK).
The initiative, sponsored by the Department of Innovation of the Diputación Foral de Bizkaia (Regional Council of Bizkaia) and the Innovation Agency BAI, aims to address innovation in plastic parts and products producing companies, as a collective effort where the users, producers and suppliers of the sector must get involved in order to favour the processes of technological transference and upgrading.
ADN DESIGN took part on the first day, which covered the reinforcement of the designing capacity and was targeted to present an updated overview of the issue involved in the incorporation of the Design function in companies. Brigitte Sauvage had the opportunity to share ADN DESIGN experience in this key sector, along with other distinguished organisations such as Leartiker Research and Technology, Aimplas Instituto Tecnológico del Plástico, AYS Análisis y Simulaciones de Plásticos or Gaiker - IK4.
Siemens 2009 calendar

A digital image of Gama Cube, recently designed by ADN DESIGN for the company Araven, was selected by Siemens PLM Software to illustrate the month of November in their calendar 2009 for the EMEA region. The image, rendered through our NX Mach 3 Industrial Design software, was selected by the industry professionals who valued positively its innovation, complexity and high resolution.

Tacto Plus Thermostat

More than a decade ago, Airzone detected that comfort air-conditioning by conducts had great limitations: the lack of temperature control in each area provoked comfort reduction and an unnecessary increase in power expense. As a result, they developed a new concept in comfort home air-conditioning: zoning. This system guarantees the ideal temperature in every room of the home.
Airzone has relied on ADN DESIGN for the design and mechanical development of the most interactive component with users of the zoning system, the built-in Tacto Plus Thermostat. This element controls the on and off functions of the comfort air-conditioning in the room where it is installed, and allows the selection of the set point temperature.
As a result, the thermostat makes simplicity and adaptation to different installation environments its main arguments. A streamlined, friendly and sophisticated design, which is able to offer the user the most human experience of the innovative Airzone comfort air-conditioning systems.
